Package: kate Version: KDE 3.0.7 CVS/CVSup/Snapshot Severity: wishlist Installed from: Compiled sources Compiler: Not Specified OS: Linux OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified The toplevel user interface mode is all wrong! There shouldn't be the annoying floating window with the menu and toolbar, the stuff there should be split between two windows: Each Editor window should contain menu containing the appropriate stuff: File->Save File->Save As Edit->Grep Edit->Expand Text (etc) And the "Class Parser" window, should contain all the tabs like it does in the normal mode, however it should have a menu with the appropriate tabs: Project->New Project->Open Project->Import Debug->Start Help->Man Page (etc) In addition, the status bar should be moved to the editor window. Both the editor window and the classparser could have a toolbar. The editor windows don't appear on the status bar, why is it called "toplevel" if they're not? :) Please don't take any of my comments as personally, I just would really like to start using KDevelop, and it's just so close to what I want. -Charles (Submitted via bugs.kde.org) (Complete bug history is available at http://bugs.kde.org/db/46/46568.html)
