Dear kate developers, Thank you for developing kate in open source. I would like to make a recommendation about the <find> (control-F) operation. In most editors, it works just like in Kate: you browse the code (text) in your text window, to find the portion of code that contains the query text. In UltraEdit, a much more usefull feature is implemented: the lines that contain the query text are displayed in another window, and the code can be browsed by the lines that contain the query text. This is very usefull for browsing the code, function calls, places where variables are used etc. Also, it would be very nice, visually, to have a transparent background on the text, like konsole does. It is better to edit code having a texture background. If the day after day programming seems a monotony, like having the same woman for years, at least, you won't have to watch her in the same clothes every day. I wrote this email, to suggest these recommendations which i think will help you enhance kate, and provide an advantage to it. And to thank you for kate. Yanni
