I guess the version of kbabel I use keeps varying because i update with 
apt-get pointing to the kde-redhat repository. I just used the one coming 
with 3.3.1 and had the experience of kbabel crashing without any trace. The 
program was just suddenly gone, and the work lost. This is not much use as a 
bug report I know, but it was nevertheless what happened.
