crashing kbabel

I seem to constantly crash kbabel. I just upgraded to kde 3.4 using the 
kde-redhat rpms, but I continue crashing just like I did before the upgrade 
so I assume the reason is external. The crashhandler says

I removed the database and that seems to help a little. Nevertheless I seem to 
be told i am running it for the first time every time. I wonder what I am 
doing wrong
