kdevelop-$plugin development roundtrip shortcut?

so when developing a brand new kdevelop plugin,
is there any hidden way to load plugin from a local staging install
location?

otherwise the change goes

   1.   kdevelop manual work
   1. build
      2. test
      3. commit
      4. githook
      5. ci / cd process
      6. testing repo as binary artifact
      7. repo  update triggers local system upgrade via hook
      8. kdevelop-$plugin package hook on update to restart kdevelop

i sure love coffee breaks, but i also like getting progress,
so shorten cycle to to only 1,2,8 would save a lot of time and give faster
progress..

or do i need to patch kdevelop to add the feature?
