Thank you for providing the additional detail.

Logged in as root, Dolphin did not crash for me with 24.12.2 or built from
git-mster on Solus
It *did* crash on OpenSuse, Dolphin v 24.12.2 while logged in as root

At this point, we need a backtrace of when Dolphin crashes. You should get a Dr
Konqui notification right after the crash.
Click on Report Bug and then Send Automatic Report.
