I would like to point out a similar issue I've reported here:

(My report describes a selection problem in Dolphin’s Details view when using
single-click mode.)

Summary:
After switching the KDE setting to single-click behavior, clicking on one file
sometimes causes multiple unrelated files above it to become selected, without
using the Shift key. This happens sporadically, but regularly enough to
interfere with normal file handling.

This sounds very similar to what is described in this report. It may be part of
the same underlying bug in Dolphin’s selection logic.

Please consider investigating whether both issues share the same root cause.
