I can reproduce this on Plasma 6.4.1. My samba server lives at 

- When entering \\smbhostname or smb://smbhostname dolphin crashes
- When entering smb://myusername@smbhostname it works

kf.kio.core: Internal error: itemsInUse did not contain
QUrl("smb://myusername@smbhostname/")                         
kf.kio.core: Fatal Error: HUH? Lister KDirLister(0x55dfa79a4510) is supposed to
be listing, but has no job!         
KCrash: Application 'dolphin' crashing... crashRecursionCounter = 2             
zsh: IOT instruction (core dumped)  dolphin 

Can you confirm it working with the smb://myusername@smbhostname URL form?
