We should check for this list if we already have our own thumbnailer for the mimetype, and if so, hide the ones from /usr/share/thumbnailers for this mimetype. Sadly it's bit more complicated than that, and moving our own thumbnailers into this standard should help more gradual settings for them. Still, can confirm the issue.
