I assume you didn't actually want to mark "Dolphin common display style for all
folders is broken" as being intentional. So here is a TL;DR for your
convenience.

The view mode isn't global anymore as it is saved for each of "search",
"trash", "recentlyused", "timeline" and "global" (meaning every other folder).

It's new and I think it's a bug. Whatever it is, there is no common display
style anymore. It happens to you too. With or without $HOME being a tmpfs. Why
didn't you try it in the first place instead of looking up web comincs, I
wonder?
