I don't understand the question, by reading a folder you mean opening it ? =
cd
in the terminal ?
You need to be specific.

Either cases it seems like a local issue on your hand.
Spaces in folder names are not an issue in dolphin, or a problem to use in a
terminal.
You can use completion utilities for your shell to automatically deal with
spaces in folder names.
