Regarding load on server with imap offline mode

I've allready sent this to the kde-pim-list but it seems that it was not the 
right list to ask. I hope I can get some helpful hints here. If I'm barking 
up the wrong maillist please let me know.

I've had a look at the FAQ and KDE Bug Tracking System. Couldn't find anything 
on this.

I'm trying to track down why the imap server is so heavily loaded with kmail 
in offline imap mode. In normal imap mode there is no problem but with 
offline mode it's really loaded. We are several users on the server and a few 
of us use offline but with different clients. Only me that is using kmail in 
that mode. The rest have fetchmail, thunderbird (linux, windows and 
mac), "some other windows imap stuff".

As the others clients doesn't load the server as kmail does I suspect it is in 
the design and implementation of kmail's offline mode. 

This might not be the right place to ask. If it isn't please direct me to the 
right place.

Opensuse: 10.2

Server side:
OS: FreeBSD 4.11-STABLE
imapd: Courier-IMAP 4.0.1
