This (simple?) feature is still not implemented in KDE 3.5.6-4.fc6, KMail: 1.9.6
(kdepim-3.5.6-6.fc6)

I have emails for more than ten years back, but I don't want to push them all to my IMAP server. So it would be nice to have an archive in some file structure that would be reasonably easy to read from within KMail, or by clicking the messages from within Konqueror. This is not possible to do with such mbox-files that contain multiple emails.

As for the mbox kioslave mentioned in comment #1, the kioslave does not list the subject of the email, and is therefore not really useful - but I might have missed some settings. I used "mbox:/var/tmp/read-mail" to read the mbox file stored I had there.
