This feature is particularly important now that KMail supports templates (Bug 1015). I want to be able to select multiple messages and respond with a template that says, "I've read your message but unfortunately don't have time to send a personal response. For urgent matters you can reach my by telephone at..."
An alternative way of implementing this feature would be through a filter (See Bug 23303). I think both methods should be implemented as the former allows the user to customize the message before sending.
