I agree with observation the settings dialog is not intuitive. Besides, the even doc does not help
Special transport: "Select or enter an alternative SMTP server to be used when sending messages using this identity."

I still don't know alternative TO WHAT is this special transport. In other words, when I leave it empty what happens?
