I am not 100% sure that I suffer from this exact bug; for me the situation is *a little* better: Usually, after suspending/resuming my notebook with KMail left open, KMail is unusable in the sense that I cannot read mail (using IMAP/ssl) anymore. However, I often get the desired "connection lost" msgbox when I quit KMail. Still, I am dreaming of KMail seamlessly detecting lost connections and reconnections - ideally, the above-mentioned message box would be replaced with a passive popup, since the internet connection going away/coming back is a very frequent situation with mobile computers.

BTW: When I just tried reproducing the error without a suspend/resume cycle (simply by switching off the WLAN for 5 minutes, and in the meantime changing the IMAP folder), KMail would not show the error, but silently quit, leaving a kio_imap behind. Maybe the timeout is larger than some minutes. At least after re-starting KMail I got a new (mostly working) IMAP slave.
