Good point, but I don't think that 'never rewrite from scratch' rule should be 
applied here. First, the code base is pretty small. Second, many features 
just cannot be implemented without serious changes and probably it is easier 
to write those parts from scratch.

The source is available and will be available, as long as SourceForge exists. 
Even I won't be able to remove it from there, so there is no risk of losing 
it.
