It starts minimized here if you quit it minimized (via tray icon context menu or ending the KDE session). Or do you want it minimized regardless of the state at exit? The only thing which annoys me a little atm: if you close the KnowIt window via "X" window button, it is removed from the taskbar. After restart, the window is still minimized but has an entry in the taskbar now (personally I don't need an taskbar entry for KnowIt's mainwin at all...).
