Hi there,

I'm starting with the packaging work to get Kolab 2.4 to Debian. This
is quite a significant amount of work but luckily we have some work done
already while we had initially packaged Kolab 2.3 for Debian.

Ergo, we have a series of GIT repositories for APT packaging[1], ready
for people to start contributing to if so inclined.

I have therefore created a tracker bug[2] in our issue tracker[3], to
which the purpose is that a "primary packager" can be assigned to any
packages we need packaging for.

The components in use here are "packaging - apt - debian" and
ultimately also "packaging - apt - ubuntu".

For these components, the public mailing list
'[email protected]'[4] has been made the default,
primary assignee. Anyone participating in the packaging effort is free
to make him or herself the assignee of the ticket ("take the bug") and
take ownership.

I'm encouraging those people interested in packaging to contact me to
discuss getting GIT commit and upload access to the mirror, and/or those
interested in consuming the packages for Debian distributions
participate in packaging and/or testing (by watching Bugzilla and
further discussions on this mailing list).

Kind regards,

Jeroen van Meeuwen
