Kolab doesn't "force" you to do anything - you just have to configure 
it to meet your needs / expectations.

I think you'll want to read up on the documentation for 
[email protected]:

For the shared [email protected] address, the following should work:

  # kolab cm shared/[email protected]
  # kolab sam shared/[email protected] anyone p
  # vi /etc/postfix/virtual

[email protected]  shared+shared/[email protected]

  # postmap /etc/postfix/virtual
