Kola 3 development with libkolabxml or libkolab

I am wondering how to use the libkolabxml for development purposes.
Is there an documentation for that lib? The manual 
http://docs.kolab.org/en-US/Kolab_Groupware/3.0/html/Development_Manual/
looks pretty empty.

For me it look very hard to guess what parameters the functions accept
or need.
