At first sight, I see an additional header Content-class: urn:content-classes:calendarmessage Maybe that already does the trick. Gmail attaches the .ics twice (!). Once with Content-Type: text/calendar; charset=UTF-8; method=REQUEST and again with Content-Type: application/ics; name="invite.ics" Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="invite.ics" I guess they have their reasons why to duplicate the attachment... Maybe you can verify whether an invitation from Gmail works with Outlook 2003.
