Push with different clients

Hi!

I wonder which of the clients (Kontact, Roundcube, Syncrotron,  
Thunderbird, Outlook-Connectors,...) support pushing of Information  
such as Mail, Contacts, Tasks,...

How is pushing done technically? IMAP-Idle?
