Also (in addition to me stating the wrong section to put the setting in, 
which you have now resolved), I should mention that kolabd does not 
touch the 'uid' attribute.

It is only primary_mail and secondary_mail that kolabd also applies, for 
which the kolab-webadmin "replicates" the behavior to the UI, as to 
limit the number of unsuspected results.
