I can hardly find any useful docs for the still-in-development cyrus 2.5. 
But I've found the corresponding Bug-report aka Feature Request [1].

It seems like this is what I was asking for.

I tried updating to cyrus 2.5 two weeks ago, with the update to kolab 3.2, but it smashed my whole imap storage. So I'm still using cyrus 2.4 and wait for 2.5 to become ready. (As a home user I do not have a dev-stage here for now, only one live system.)
