Yes, just 'configure' although I might have setup the QTDIR environment 
variable out of habit to /usr/lib/qt3

To my knowledge ATI does not have drivers for Radeon 7500, it only has 
some drivers for 8500, which I believe to be 2D drivers.

To be honest, after my experiences I would strongly suggest a NVidia 
card for anyone running Linux and desiring 3D.   Or maybe to shell out 
$99 for xigraphics.
