Trouble with Installation

I am using SuSE 8.0 and installed kpovmodeler.  When I launch the 
application, all seems well, except for that all the toolbars and 
menubar options are missing.  Not sure why....

If I load one of the example files, it loads fine, but since there are 
not buttons to press to do anything (other than new, load, and print), I 
cannot render the scene to see what it looks like.  Any suggestions?
