The way i did the 3.5KDE version is

Get the branch 3.5 svn

svn://anonsvn.kde.org/home/kde/

click down to the /branch/3.5/

I use kdesvn

Then i got the lot a bit of over kill but wanted other items to look at 
aswell.

You may only want the Graphics items..
/kdegraphics/kpovmodeler/

But i am sure it needs files from some of the other directories..

Then go into the directory you want to make and install once downloaded and do 
these things.

make -f Makefile.cvs
./configure
make
su
make install

And its done easy as pie..
Took me a while to work out at first..
