Multi domain setup not working (Ubuntu 18.04)

I cannot get multi domain setup working correctly. Everything works for 
the main domain, but the canonification for the other domains does not 
seem to work.

This is what I see in the log:

The email address is available in LDAP, within Root DN now 
dc=pedit-nederland,dc=nl, so why is it not found?

For a different account I mentiones the Root DN explicitly in web-asmin, 
but the result is (almost) the same:

Does anyone know what goes wrong? Where can I find the source of 
ptloader so that I can try to debug this issue?
