Dear KWin Developer Team, First of all, thank you for your great work on KDE Plasma. I'm impressed by the size of the project and its consistent quality. Some time ago I was experimenting with colors and realized the two main reasons people use color invert features is to get rid of brightness and to add brightness and contrast to a dark image. Nevertheless, inverting colors comes with a disadvantage using dark themes doesn't bring; which is that, not only the brightness but the hue becomes opposite of the original image, giving an alien look to things and making them harder to recognize. A solution to this problem is to displace the hue by 180 degrees before or after the color invert. I wanted to add this feature to the KDE Desktop, so I looked up the source code for the invert plugin and implemented an Invert Plus Hue option that behaves just like the original screen and window invert features, while complementing them. Here's a video demoing my implementation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSzATPGufpM I'm new to KDE Development, having only contributed bug reports to Kdenlive before. I would like to contribute more of my programming skills, but my contributions would be spread across projects and sporadic in nature since I normally don't have much spare time. What should I do to contribute the Invert Plus Hue feature for now? A copy of the Invert Plus Hue source code can be found at: https://github.com/Cuperino/KWin-Invert-Plus-Hue-Effect All feedback is welcomed! Regards, Javier Cordero -- Javier O.
