wireless connectivity problem

I use Ubuntu 9.04 with KDE and GNOME. Wireless connections are possible
using GNOME but is not working on KDE.

The network concerned is a wireless network with WEP encryption. even on
supplying the correct key, connection is refused.

i`ve searched various forums for a similar problem, but have been unable to
find satisfactory results.

Kindly look into the matter.
