Kate feature request (as a bug report) i am using Kate Version 21.12.3 with Kubuntu 22.04.1 With Kate, with Ctrl-RightArrow Ctrl-LeftArrow please fix. In short: Can you change Kate to behave like Gedit? The task Gedit is better at versus Kate is: Ctrl-RightArrow = move Right to next word with many blank lines between words, in 1 keystroke. Ctrl-LeftArrow = move Left to next word with many blank lines between words, in 1 keystroke. Said the Long way ... using Kate Version 21.12.3 and sample text file below: Line 1 test1 of sample text file. Line 9 test2, Lines 2 to 8 are blank. With cursor at end of Line 1, With cursor after Line 1 period in file. see above ... With Gedit the command is one (1) keystroke. Ctrl-RightArrow = skip words, moves from Line 1 end to Line 9 or said differently with Gedit, any number of blank lines the cursor moves down to next word. Excellent feature, one (1) keystroke. With Kate the command is eight (8) keystrokes. Ctrl-RightArrow 8 times in above example or more keystrokes if more blank lines between words. With Kate, with Ctrl-RightArrow Ctrl-LeftArrow please fix. Regards. Carbon Copy response [email protected] --
