feature question

hello,
i've been a "happy" kubuntu user for several users
especially coming (or escaping) from the windows' world.

i use Kate as the default editor but i sorely miss one feature of VS and 
VS Code:
namely, *ctrl-c to copy the entire current line without having to select 
it.*
i've searched for potential plugin that would do this but to no avail.

i would attempt to write one if only there was a good sample to follow.
please advise and thank you for any guidance.
