Disable LSP for certain files

Is there a way to exclude a file from the LSP?

I routinely edit a 12MB JSON file and it invokes the LSP a lot.  Is there
away to turn it off for a certain file and/or limit how often it invokes
the LSP?  Maybe have it only run on file save?
