Hi,

Use Case

I am currently using Kate as my editor of choice to help me in the
process of learning a programming language. In this process, I am
using a text book which has exercises at the end of each chapter.

Problem

Each time I start a new program, I have(!) to select
Tools/Mode/Sources and then select that same(!) programming language.
Having(!!) to do this each time a new program is started is not an
efficient use of time. It would be more efficient if the programming
language could be selected at the start of a work session and that
selection would remain in effect no matter how many new programs were
started.

Is there any way that the programming language choice(!) could be made
somewhat "sticky", in that once the programming language has been
selected it would remain in effect no matter how many new programs
were started and until the next time it was necessary(!) to select a
different programming language ? This "stickiness" could be
implemented as a user set-able property.

Best regards,

Stuart
