It depends a bit on the raison d'être of this channel. With the constant flood 
of pursuivant messages the channel is pretty much useless for any normal 
conversation. The occasional user question is quickly drowned and most likely 
missed by most. So, if the channel's purpose isn't the KDE PIM commit stream 
then removing the commit stream is probably the right decision.

An alternative would be to filter out GIT_SILENT commits, but it seems Laurent 
stopped using this keyword even for "Remove unused includes" commits. I kind 
of like the commit posts for itinerary, but maybe I should simply follow 
Volker on invent. :-)
