Hi,

I think you should look at maybe placing a bug report with Ubuntu, they are 
the ones who compiled your installation of Quanta, and will be the only ones 
who can begin to try to sort it it out.

This is not a process of fobbing you off, it's just that in the GNU/Linux 
world, this is the way that things happen. It's unlikely that anyone on this 
list will be able to answer your specific problem (unless they're the Debian 
or Ubuntu Quanta package maintainer).

The point being, that Ubuntu derive their packaging from Debian who take it 
from the individual projects and adapt stuff to work together as the Debian 
GNU/Linux distribution.  Ubuntu of course also make changes themselves, so 
this is where you should start.  If the problem arises further upstream then 
Ubuntu will pass it on to Debian, who themselves may pass information onto 
Quanta or some other project if they themselves did not originate the 
problem.

The "other project" stuff may be an issue here, since the operating system is 
complex, the problem could well have nothing to do with Quanta at all.
