My Blackberry was annoying me so... KDE4 has a KDE 3 compatibility mode. That's all you need, just load Quanta 3.5.x. kdebase 3x is only if you want to run the desktop. The KDE4 version of Quanta is progress, but it's not just "not feature complete", it's really frustrating if you want to do a lot of things. Hopefully this will be changing soon. That's another story. You should be able to run any KDE 3x application with KDE4 libraries installed. If you have problems post here, but don't install extra desktops. If you're going to install a KDE desktop get 4.2 and enjoy. -- Eric Laffoon kdewebdev project founder
