I'm not sure if I misunderstand the point of that page, or if you 
misunderstand my question.

I realize that there's nothing I can do with byethost (as long as I 
stick free hosting anyway). My "www"/"htdocs" folder is in a specific 
place and it's parent folder does not and never will have write permissions.

So since I want just one project for the whole site, I guess that means 
there's no way to make quanta more flexible and point to a different 
folder for the project? Could I even store the project file locally for 
the remote ftp?

I guess it's either that, or else one project for each sub domain.
