Well, the highlighting of the brackets is done by the katepart, not
Quanta itself. The katepart has a limit, after some lines it will not
search for the matching pair. There is a bugreport for this, but I
don't know the number right now.
What you might do is, to use the +/- signs to close part of the document
(what is inside a bracket) and this way find the line where it ends (so
you must go top-down, not bottom-up through the document).
