Hi Andras
Thanks for the response.
Unfortunately all that did was remove my indendation, backup and tabbing
settings. so I just moved the file back.
I did some tests on opening quanta after renaming the rc file and much the
same happens. Quanta seems to be fstat64'ing every file in the project -
including a 65 meg database dump as follows:
fstat64(13, {st_mode=S_IFREG|0644, st_size=65462382, ...}) = 0
fstat64(13, {st_mode=S_IFREG|0644, st_size=65462382, ...}) = 0
read(13, "4407327.74.6.74.49\', 0, \'74.6.74"..., 4096) = 4096
fstat64(13, {st_mode=S_IFREG|0644, st_size=65462382, ...}) = 0
fstat64(13, {st_mode=S_IFREG|0644, st_size=65462382, ...}) = 0
fstat64(13, {st_mode=S_IFREG|0644, st_size=65462382, ...}) = 0

fstat64(13, <unfinished ...>
Process 6949 detached
I can understand why that may be causing quanta to heat up but shouldn't it
just list the file? I'll see if I can exclude that file from the project.
Thanks again
