Hi Eric - Running on openSuSE 10.3, 1GB, Pentium4 2.6Ghz. KDE/Quanta version 3.5.7. Main project is several thousand files including graphics and multimedia binaries on a remote file system connected via sftp. I don't have a problem with the load times when Quanta starts - it is, after all, a lot of remote files. Takes about 20 seconds. Where the problem lies with me is adding an anchor tag in straight html. As soon as I hit <a href=" Quanta seems to catalogue all the files again as if I am going to link to one of the project files. 99.9% cpu, 19.9% of memory and load times that start rising from 0.2 to 2.38+. Quanta essentially locks up at that point for 3.5 minutes or longer. And then it stops and happily allows me to add the link and continue on my way. Not a huge problem as my coding is mostly in PHP and I don't see the same problem when echoing the anchor tag. Occasionally i will forget, though, and smack myself in the forehead when I hear the CPU fan start cranking up. Hope this helps with what you are looking for. Thom
