By centralizinfg the KDE development environment into one package (KDevelop) rather than keeping multiple packages, the KDE development community gains additional leverage to continue improving the tools available to developers in multiple languages. These kinds of synergies can be clearly seen in the growth of Eclipse as a development environment over the past few years. Regards, - Brian
