No problem, many KDE4 apps crash at this time.

Good job, this is what we should do, try to not use the compatibility 
classes.

I admit I didn't look at the QDockWidgets, but I would say it is not a 
big problem it if doesn't look like the KDE3 version, if it is usable.

Good question, and only the Qt developers could do it.

Not us, as we aren't using the dockwidgets directly in Quanta, but 
through the KMDI library. But KMDi will be gone in KDE4 and afaik 
KDevelop has a QDockWidget based replacement (and it doesn't have 
tabs...). So you could ask about the KDock* future on kde-core-devel 
and about QDockWidget usage on kdevelop-devel list.
