DIGIKAM WILL NOT INSTALL ON WINDOWS 11 - SEARCHING FOR DATABASES

I am having problems getting DigiKam to install on my Windows 11 PC.

I have today downloaded this version of DigiKam 
'digiKam-8.7.0-Qt6-Win64' expecting it to install correctly, but when I 
start the program I am getting a message to say that it is searching for 
databases.

I have uninstalled the program several times but when I restart the 
program the same message is popping up on screen. The message has a 
message saying it is searching for the databases with a blue dashed line 
but having left it for an hour it is still searching.

I used to use DigiKam on my old PC (Win 10) and it used o install 
without problems, so why cannot I get the program to install correctly?
