How to rescan unconfirmed faces?

Hi - I'm using DigiKam 8.7.0 on Windows 10.

I've successfully scanned for faces and I'm going through the unconfirmed
category to sort out facial recognition's correct choices from incorrect.
Every once in a while, I go into the People tab, set the workflow for
"recognize faces only" and rescan the collection.

My assumption is that when I confirm faces, it refines the facial
recognition model so it makes more accurate selections. Am I correct in
that assumption?

If so, then does the scan collection for faces process rescan the
unconfirmed faces to remove faces that the model doesn't think match
anymore? In other words, does it fix any incorrect matches based on the
new model?

The reason I'm asking is that DigiKam has tagged about 24,000 faces as a
certain person, but many of them aren't that person. I've confirmed a few
thousand pictures of that person and want DigiKam to review the unconfirmed
list with the information in the updated face model.

Thanks.
