This is a new setting in 8.7. I came across it about a month ago. See the snippet from a conversation about it in this group. The documentation is now up-to-date, but it can take a veteran user by surprise. Carol Hi all, The option is now documented in the online handbook: https://invent.kde.org/documentation/digikam-doc/-/commit/019819089de0c471f2c2d0031f71c2f79bc2de0f Best regards Gilles Caulier Le sam. 12 juil. 2025 à 23:33, Carol C. The tool tip says "Set this option to automatically start a new background face recognition scan when a new face is tagged." I don't see that item documented at https://docs.digikam.org/en/setup_application/miscs_settings.html#scan-operations but it does appear in that screenshot. > > — > Charlie Gorichanaz > > On Aug 16, 2025, at 16:23, Steven Robbins <[email protected]> wrote: > > Hi, > > I'm a long-time DK user.
