Re: DK on MacOS: Homebrew vs. .pkg installer

I don’t know the exact lag between official release and the homebrew version. As soon as I see the general DK update message I’m able to update via homebrew later that evening. It’s fast. 

Regarding the DB, mine is on a separate server on the local network and I don’t notice any lag. Maybe on the initial scan of my photo directory is all. 
I did it to allow me the flexibility to move computers should I want to. I should be able to install DK, point it to my networked drive of photos and the external DB and not notice a thing. 
You can run an external DB on the same machine running DK too. No network delay concerns there.
