Adding focus points for cameras (was: digiKam 8.8.0 is released)

I have some Pentax cameras. Note that Pentax cameras are DSLRs and the focus points are displayed only in the viewfinder. I think I could find out their numbering and approximate positions and sizes some way but before doing that I’d like to know what’s needed exactly and whether there are any tips on how to do the measurements via a viewfinder.
