How to stop Digikam writing to MOV files?

I discovered in Digikam 9.1 now writes metadata to MOV files using
exiftool, even though the config settings to use exiftool are not selected.

Other video file types such as MP4 still write to sidecar as expected.

I don't want to update video files, and the previous behavior just used
sidecars for all videos.  Is there a setting to stop Digikam from making
updates to MOV using exiftool?
